Year 3 students at Cayman Prep and High School got to walk, talk, sing and even eat like ancient Egyptians on Tuesday as part of their studies. Students came to school dressed in Egyptian costume and then took part in day-long activities that culminated their study of ancient Egypt. For lunch, students ate authentic ancient Egyptian foods such as figs, dates, grapes, hummus, fish and beef. Instead of the normal wine and beer consumed by ancient Egyptians, however, the students drank grape juice and ginger ale. During the afternoon, students took quizzes on ancient Egypt which gave them the opportunity to win prizes.
The annual Egyptian Day was organised by Year 3 teachers Brenda Bryce and Natasha Chopra.
