A delegation of 44, headed by Financial Secretary Kenneth Jefferson, recently returned from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the Cayman Islands Government exhibited at the Risk and Insurance Management Society’s 43rd Annual Conference and Exhibition.
As the largest insurance conference in the world, RIMS attracted more than 400 exhibitors and more than 8,000 attendees, delivering its usual high standard of informative sessions, engaging speakers and valuable networking opportunities, said a Government press release.
Government hosted its annual RIMS cocktail reception at the Loew’s Philadelphia Hotel. Mr. Jefferson commented on the substantial growth in Cayman’s insurance industry and thanked clients for their participation in the insurance industry and encouraged their continued support, the release said.
Amongst others on hand were Mary-Lou Gallegos, Head of Insurance at the Authority, and Seamus Tivnan, Chairman of the Insurance Managers’ Association of Cayman.
The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman hosted its annual RIMS dinner on the Sunday evening. In his after dinner comments, Mr. Tivnan thanked the Government of the Cayman Islands for its continued support of the industry. He attributed much of Cayman’s success as the current world leader in captive insurance company formations to the excellent regulatory environment offered by Ms Gallegos and her Insurance Supervision Team within the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
