Arrest in machete incident
Officers from West Bay Police station arrested a 31-year-old male attempting to flee the island on Sunday, 12 June at Owen Roberts International Airport.
Now in custody, he is being investigated regarding an incident in West Bay on Saturday, 11 June when a 55-year-old man was hit in the head with a machete. The victim had to be airlifted to Jamaica and is reported to be in stable condition.
The matter is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department West Bay.
Disorderly conduct
On Friday, 10 June at 4pm police arrived at to Owen Roberts International Airport to deal with a female who was accused of smoking in the lavatory of a flight from Fort Lauderdale.
The 54-year-old American was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to George Town Police Station. She was to appear in court on 14 June.
Driving without a licence
Bodden Town officers arrested a 24-year-old male on Friday, 10 June on suspicion of the following offences: driving without being licensed, dangerous driving, driving a vehicle without registration plates, driving a vehicle with an expired coupon, driving a vehicle without a valid certificate of roadworthiness and driving a vehicle while not covered by insurance.
He has been charged and will appear in court at a later date.
