The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, held the grand opening of its new Employment Center on Monday and launched its online application site: www.ritzcarltonjobs.ky.
The resort is seeking applications from both Caymanians and expatriate residents for nearly 1,000 jobs, according to a company press release.
Offers to those accepted will be made from July through September. The jobs will start in late autumn 2005.
‘Hospitality-industry experience is not required for most of these positions,’ said vice president and general manager Jean Cohen. ‘We will select ladies and gentlemen based on their natural talents and provide the five-star training that will allow them to excel, not only in delivering the elegance and warmth for which we are so well known, but also in building a rewarding career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.’
In addition to the Employment Center operations and online application site, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, will welcome applicants to themed Career Weeks in July and August, during which prospective employees can complete the application and interview process, and meet managers with whom they would work.
For example, during Culinary Career Week, prospective kitchen workers will meet Ritz-Carlton chefs, ask questions and participate in interviews. If selected for a position, they will receive an offer from the hotel within one week or two weeks.
Prospective employees who had completed half the selection process last year when Hurricane Ivan struck, will be called by Employment Center staff during the remainder of June.
If they remain interested in the Ritz-Carlton, they will be asked to resume the process where they left off.
The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman Employment Center is off West Bay Road at the southern edge of the property.
Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 1pm, and 3pm to 5pm.
On Wednesday hours are 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm.
