Phantom to return?

Local wrestling fans can enjoy a wild night this month when pro wrestling comes to Grand Cayman on Saturday, 30 July. Gates open at 6pm and matches begin at 7pm in the gym at the University College of the Cayman Islands.

There will be six matches including one female match and the final match will be a battle royal with 12 men in the ring at the same time.

Hector Guerrero will be defending his Cayman Islands heavyweight championship belt. Cayman’s own Keith Dixon will be defending his Caribbean heavyweight belt.

The Caribbean championship region includes Miami, Key West, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Cayman.

Dixon will be going up against Jumbo Barretta, the fearsome and feared Samoan.

Also on the line will be the Caribbean tag team championship.

There are rumours about that the popular Cayman Phantom may resume his role as the terror of the pro wrestling circuit. There is also the possibility of Dixon and Guerrero teaming up once again to become the Latin Connection duo that once struck fear in the hearts of grapplers everywhere.

‘This will be a night of body slamming, high flying, bone-crushing action that will rock the Cayman Islands,’ says Dixon.

‘People don’t want to miss this because it’s going to be unforgettable,’ he adds.

Tickets are now available at Delworth’s Esso and Reflections. Price is $20, $25 at the gate.
