Cayman’s squad came back medal laden from the CAC Age Group Champi-onships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Chantelle Morrison won the 10-11 age group girls 60m dash, continuing her dominance over all the re-gional rivals she has faced in her age group.
She also anchored the 10-11 age group squad to victory in the 4×100 relay with a top notch display of sprinting, tracking down the leaders on the final leg and leaving them in her wake.
Ashleigh Nalty contin-ued to show that she is a force to be reckoned with in the region’s 10-11 age group.
She took silver in the high jump and 60m dash and was part of the gold winning relay team for the age group, which was com-pleted by Jorel Belafonte and nine-year-old Justin Nalty.
In the 12-13 age group Travis Webb took a silver medal in the boys high jump.
Illness and injuries to Gizelle Wright and Avril Myers prevented the Cayman athletes from competing and realising their full winning potential.
The Cayman Islands team finished in 10th posi-tion in the 12-13 age group with a total of 9,542 points.
In the 10-11 age group the team finished in seventh position overall with a points total of 7,681.
