Concert promotes anti-violence

The message to end violence will be heard loud and clear on Friday night at a concert at the South Sound Community Park.

Local band Love Culture is staging the show to promote peace and love when concern over crime in the community is at an all time high.

The family-oriented Love Culture David Star Anti-violence concert is opens to all ages. It starts at 5.30pm and finishes at 9pm. Gates open at 4pm.

‘We really want to unite our community into the spirit of peace and love. I think by us offering our music which promotes that kind of atmosphere, people will come out and hear us sing against violence,’ said Love Culture band member Gordon Solomon.

Other members are Stuart Wilson, Samuel Rose and Daniel Augustin.

With vocals shared between Gordon and Stuart, the group’s music ranges from reggae to rap to a little bit of jazz.

At the show the group will feature recent hits such as Gordon’s latest release Money Made Man a Killer and Represent which was recently done in London.

Guests will also hear songs such as Children,Beginning Of Sorrows, Struggles, and Die Trying.

For the night, the group will be performing about 18 to 20 songs.

The show will also feature local group Zig Zag Tribe and Big J.

Part proceeds of the show, which is sponsored by Palms Landscaping, CUC, Cayman Airways and Cable and Wireless, will go to the Crisis Centre.
