Reconstruction of the Public Beach is about to get under way.
Saturday at 4pm sees the official ground breaking ceremony for the project at the popular rendezvous on West Bay Road.
‘The public is strongly encouraged to attend and join with the Leos Club of Grand Cayman and their sponsors to help rebuild and maintain the beautiful beaches of the Cayman Islands,’ says a Leo Club press release.
‘We hope to start the reconstruction process during the week following the official groundbreaking ceremony. So a tentative date of 10 October has been slotted for the reconstruction project to begin,’ said the Leo managing the project, Daniel Reid.
‘The project has been estimated to take roughly two months. Therefore a completion date of 30 November has been set,’ he added.
‘We are so appreciative of our sponsors as follows, OA&D Architects for architectural and site plans for ten new cabanas, First Caribbean International Bank for the financing of the reconstruction of all ten cabanas, Caribbean Utilities Company for the replacement and refurbishing of the playground and the Ministry of Communications, Works and Infrastructure for the restoration of the rest room facilities,’ he said.
