Tea served in the finest of settings was enjoyed by the much loved seniors of the district of Bodden Town, Saturday.
Held at the Seafarers Association hall, over 70 seniors enjoyed the grand occasion hosted by the Bodden Town committee for the elderly.
At the event seniors were covered with lots of blessings, told how valuable they were to the community and given a rundown on the progress of the Social Services Department by supervisor Lenore Wynter.
Seniors also got to say hello to the recently crowned Miss Teen Kamala Murugesu.
Served were freshly baked scones, savouries, sandwiches, cookies and pastries in front of the stage setting decorated like a typical garden tea party.
Seniors, with the help of committee members sipped tea out of real porcelain teacups and pots served on decorated tablecloths with old time oil lamps and flowers.
There was no shortage of talent, memory and real Caymanian flair at this event. Compton Webster impressed everyone with his poem about the hurricane and the North Side Kitchen Band kept everyone in tune, even Ms Josie Solomon who never left the dance floor.
Mr. Bosey was just as impressive singing up a storm with the help of Colson Daniels.
The Broadway Class Act girls also got in on the action bringing even greater beams to the faces as they performed amongst the attendees.
Attending the occasion were Bodden Town MLAs Anthony Eden, Charles Clifford and Osbourne Bodden and former Governor of the Cayman Island, Mr. Thomas Russell who said he was so sad to hear about the damage from hurricane Ivan from long time friend Ed Oliver who had passed away, but was happy to see the tremendous amount of work that the people had done to get the place looking so clean.
