Dental clinic closing

The dental clinic at the Cayman Islands Hospital will be closed temporarily for upgrades and repairs.

The clinic will close 28 October 25 November.

As a result of the closure all previously booked appointments for this period will be cancelled, said a Health Services Authority press release.

All patients with pre-booked appointments will be contacted to have their appointments rescheduled, said Chief Dental Officer Dr. John Vlitos.

During the closure of the George Town clinic, patients can access emergency dental services at the Bodden Town District Health Centre and the dental caravan, which will be located at the hospital during this period.

The dental caravan will be open from 8am to 4.30pm. The Bodden Town clinic is open from 8.15am to 4.30pm.

Space is limited in both clinics, advised Dr. Vlitos ‘We ask the public to be patient and understanding during this time.’

The dental clinic was extensively damaged during Hurricane Ivan. While the HSA has tried to maintain normal service since last September, it has now become necessary to close the clinic to expedite the repair work and provide a more suitable environment, the release said.
