Three charged with rape

Three male residents of George Town appeared in Summary Court on Friday charged with rape.

The charge arises from an incident at Smith Cove on 12 October.

Defendants are Clinton Charles Haughton Charles Augustus Rowe, both Jamaican nationals; and Lloyd Jermaine Ebanks, a Caymanian.

Ebanks, 20, is represented by Attorney John Furniss. Haughton, 23, and Rowe, 25, are represented by Attorneys Nicholas Dixey and Keith Myers respectively.

Haughton and Rowe are further charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an offence at Smith Cove. The firearm is described in the charge as a Black Marksman Repeater gun.

Magistrate Margaret Ramsay-Hale remanded the defendants in custody until today.

No details were made public and Crown Counsel Lesley Bates was asked to serve attorneys with the papers for the case.
