Did you know that 80 per cent of all electrical plans submitted to the Building Control Unit for review are usually disapproved?
According to the Planning Department this occurs because many people are not familiar with the (2005) National Electrical Code and Electrical Law & Regulations. To help improve this situation the Building Control Unit is offering an electrical seminar on 7 and 8 November, at the Customs Building on Owen Roberts Drive.
The seminar will review electrical designs for single family, multi-family and commercial developments in accordance with the current edition of the NEC and Electricity Law and Regulations.
Topics covered will include: load calculation for various development types; riser diagrams; panel schedule; spacing of receptacles and bathroom circuitry. This knowledge will help architects and electricians design buildings that adhere to the (2005) National Electrical Code.
Cost is $50 and includes refreshments during the breaks. Space is limited to 25 participants per day on a first-come-first serve-basis. Participants are reminded to bring their copy of the NEC and highlighters.
Those interested in attending this seminar should contact the Planning Department to register. Call 769-PLAN (7526), fax: 769-2922, e-mail: [email protected] or at www.planning.gov.ky.
