The Department of Environment is reminding the public of the parameters for the conch and whelk season, which begins 1 November and closes 30 April.
The catch limits for each are:
• Five conch per person or 10 conch per boat, whichever is less;
• Two-and-a-half gallons whelk in the shell or two-and-a-half pounds (processed) taken from Cayman waters in any one day.
It is also important to note that purchase restrictions state no one may purchase or receive more than five conch from Cayman waters in any one day.
