Scaramanga sails to victory in Governor’s Cup

It was a perfect day of racing, sun and a steady breeze. There were seven boats that started race 4 which was won by Natural Mystic.

Race 5 started without Serious Trouble due to Martin Couch having a suspected broken finger, which after being strapped up they managed to sail the remaining races. Race 5 was won by Scaramanga.

Race 6 saw Sunshine retire and was won by Natural Mystic, who were then in the position of not having to sail the last race.

The last race of the day and the 2005 Governor’s Cup was won by Scaramanga helmed by Mike Farrington and crewed by Tomeaka McTaggart and Matthew Diaz. Argy Bargy and Scaramanga tied on points for second but the highest score in the last race gave second place to Scaramanga.

Ciao was the only boat that was unfortunately unable to sail the second day.

With the scores taken from 15th October and 6th November, and allowing for one discard, the positions were as follows:

1 Natural Mystic 9 points

2 Scaramanga 15 points

3 Argy Bargy 15 points

4 Moonstruck 17 points

5 Serious Trouble 29 points

6 Yahoo 36 points
