Cayman shines in Bahamas

Cayman’s ‘A’ cricket team won a two match series in the Bahamas in convincing fashion.

Outstanding performances came from captain Franklin Hinds who showed his experience in leading the team, Michael Jackson, Jalon Linton, Kevin Bazil and Deno McInnis with the bat and Kevin Bazil, Oscar Owen and Matthew Rose in bowling.

‘It’s a good start to our plan,’ said coach Andy Myles.

‘We have areas for de-velopment and positives were seen in every department.

‘Now we can go back to the drawing board and continue the work we began. The players must not become complacent but work hard towards another level,’ he said. Match One, Cayman Islands ‘A’ v Bahamas President’s XI. Cayman ‘A’ -208 runs in 40 overs (Michael Jackson 51, Kevin Bazil 29, L. Melville 3 for 50, S.Pereira 2 for 21). Bahamas -65 runs in 15.2 overs (Oscar Owen 5 for 30, Franklin Hinds 2 for 10, Matthew Rose 2 for 25).

Cayman ‘A’ won by 143 runs.

Match Two, Cayman ‘A’ v Bahamas. Bahamas -221 runs in 46.1 overs (D. Wheatley 61, V.Jacoues 21, Kevin Bazil 6 for 41, Matthew Rose 2 for 35).

Cayaman ‘A’ -223 runs for 4 wickets (Franklin Hinds 55, Jalon Linton 52no, Deno McInnis 26no, N. Ekanayake 2 for 54).

Cayman ‘A’ won by six wickets.
