The Department of Tourism donated a vacation package, to be auctioned off by the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights, at the charity’s 15th annual Golf Tournament and Dinner Dance held at the homes of Ethel and Ted Kennedy in Hyannisport, MA.
A press release from the DoT outlines that the package includes non-stop, roundtrip airfare from Boston and a five-day stay for two compliments of Cayman Airways and the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
Bidding for the package began 1 December and ends this Friday via the online website www.charityfolks.com.
‘One of the most popular lots in the 100-plus line-up, the current bid for the Cayman Islands travel package is $3,255,’ said the press release.
Judith Akerman, District Marketing Manager for the US Northeast, announced details of the prize package, on behalf of the Cayman Islands, at the annual charity gala. Robert F. Kennedy Jr personally thanked Akerman and the Cayman Islands for their generous donation. Also on hand enjoying the festivities were numerous influential celebrities including Susan Lucci, Bill Murray, Jaclyn Smith, and Bill Russell, said the release.
‘Along with the generosity of the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and Cayman Airways, the Department of Tourism is pleased to offer this prize-package to the RFK Center for Human Rights,’ said Akerman.
