Lions help light up the holidays

It has been a busy time lately for members of the Lions Club of Grand Cayman. On 14 December Lions entertained adults from the Sunrise Training Centre at McCoys Restaurant to lunch and some festive fun.

‘December is always a busy time for Lions but a very rewarding one,’ said Lions President Walton Gooding.

‘We work hard to collect monies so that we can make sure everyone gets a gift. Our guests from the Sunrise Training centre had previously provided Lions with a Wish List’and after lunch Santa stopped by and made lots of wishes come true.’

On 15 December, it was the turn of the children at the Lighthouse School. Lions Club Members along with staff at the school served up food and drinks for all the kids who then entertained staff, parents and Lions with a great selection of Christmas songs. Santa also stopped by to hand out presents.

‘It is always a great party when we come to the Lighthouse School,’ said Mr. Gooding. ‘The children are so much fun. I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute the staff who work so hard all year round with the kids. They do a fantastic job.’

Lions festivities continued this past Sunday when they hosted the All Island Christmas Party at the Lions Centre.

The annual event featured balloons, food, drinks and bouncy castle along a visit from Santa who handed out gifts and candies.
