Students celebrate Christmas with CITA

On Thursday December 8 the children and staff of the Lighthouse School celebrated the spirit and joy of Christmas at the South Sound Community Park. This festive occasion is an annual event organised and sponsored by the Cayman Island Tourism Association.

‘The students enjoyed the excitement of the park which included a swing set, slides, a sand pit, and shaded picnic tables whilst waiting for the arrival of Santa Claus (Patrick Kenney), who provided all the children with presents from their wish list. The children also enjoyed food provided by Subway and Lone Star Restaurants. Those who assisted with the party were touched by the children’s sheer enjoyment of the atmosphere and interaction with others,’ says a press release.

‘The event was very successful and CITA would like to thank all those who donated and provided discounts on gift items. Thanks to Hobbies & Books and Kirk Office Equipment and to Progressive Distributors and Bodden Beverages for the supply of drinks and Celebrations for their cheerful balloon items which the kids enjoyed and got to take home.’

CITA would like to thank the community and CITA members for their continuing support of the Great Christmas Hamper Raffle, as proceeds from this event were used to finance the Lighthouse School Christmas Party.
