Athletic Association releases calendar

The Cayman Islands Athletic Association having kicked off the 2006 Track & Field Athletic Season will continue its calendar of events with the West Bay District Meet at the John A. Cumber Primary School this Saturday, 28 January, commencing at 9am.

Events to be contested are in the 7-9 age group (80m and Long Jump); in the 10-13 age group (100m, 200m, 800m, Long Jump, Shot Put); in the 14-16 age group (100mm 200m, 800m and Shot Put); in the 17-19 age group (100m, 200m, 800m and Shot Put) and in the Open Category (100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m and Shot Put).

The District Meets are open to all members of the Athletic community but particularly to all residents within each respective Districts where the Meets will be staged. These Meets will be used in the hope of selecting District Teams in Track & Field, which will compete as such at the CUC National Championships.

Entry forms for the meets can be collected from the CIAA’s office at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex or from Coaches Williams, Yen, Harper and Wason. Forms will also be made available at all Schools on the Islands and for the West Bay District Meet must all be returned to the offices of the CIAA no later than 6pm on Thursday, 26 January. There will be no entry fees for participating in the Meet. Entry Forms are also available on the Associations web site at
