Choppy seas saw Sunday’s scheduled cruise ship Coral Princess sail on by the Cayman Islands and as of Monday morning at 10am none of the four cruise ships scheduled to visit for the day had put down anchor.
The Inspiration and Imagination sailed on by early yesterday morning while the Legend of the Seas and Veendam were hovering around in the ocean mid morning deciding whether to come in.
Waters were very choppy at Spotts, eliminating use of that as a back up dock, while waters in George Town were not as choppy but had large swells, according to the Port Authority.
The weather was a result of the cold front in the area, and seas were rough to moderate with wave heights of four to six feet. Another cold front was scheduled to move into the area on Tuesday, but the sea state was forecast to be slight to moderate with wave heights of three to five feet.
Four ships were scheduled to call Tuesday: Enchantment of the Seas, Carnival Valor, Norwegian Majesty and Carnival Miracle.
