Mark Anthony Seymour, 21, appeared in Summary Court on Friday afternoon charged with attempted murder.
The charge arose from an incident that occurred in the School Road area of George Town on Saturday morning, 4 February. According to a press release from the police after the incident, no one was injured.
Seymour has also been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm – a .22 pistol and .22 shot – as well as possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
A charge of damage to property on the same date alleges that Seymour threw a block at a car’s rear glass and kicked it in.
Defence Attorney James Austin-Smith told Magistrate Grace Donalds that Seymour had been in custody since last Saturday. However, given the seriousness of the charge, he preferred to not make a bail application until he had more information.
He and Crown Counsel Andre Mon Desir agreed to mention the matter again on Thursday, 16 February.
The magistrate remanded Seymour to Northward Prison until then.
