Eighteen corporate teams participated in the 2006 edition of the Mixed sevens touch Rugby tournament at the South Sound Rugby Pitch on Saturday.
The teams were split into four pools where they battled each other with plenty of company bantering in round robin play. At the conclusion of the round-robin, teams moved into the knockout stages entering the Cup, Plate or wooden spoon pools. The wooden spoon was won by Deloitte 3, the plate by Goldman Sachs and after sixty six matches throughout the day the Admiral Marsh sharks overcame Maples and Calder in the final of the cup to win the tournament.
This Saturday sees the return of the Alex Alexander Cup last match of the round robin between the Iguanas and the Cayman Storm at 4:30pm at the South Sound Pitch.
This is an important match for all of the players who are trying to fine tune their performances prior to the Waterford Family and Cancer Awareness day playoffs on April 22nd as well as impress national team selectors with the Diamond Law Associates International Series between Cayman, Bermuda and Canada U21 just four weeks away.
