The service of thanksgiving for the life of Norberg K. Thompson, Sr., O.B.E. will be held at the George Town Seventh Day Adventist Church Sunday, 9 April at 3.30pm with a viewing of the body from 2.30pm – 3.30pm with internment at the Merren’s Cemetery on South Church Street.
A wake will be held Saturday, 8 April at 5.30pm at Bodden Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson died 30 March, 2006, in Orlando, Florida.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 50 years, Mary Thompson; two sons, Kel and Gene Thompson; three grandchildren, Candice, Kimberly and Holly Thompson; two daughters-in-law, Bertha and Melisa Thompson; five step-grandchildren, Adrian Ebanks and wife Orlee, Jeana Ebanks, Melanie Ebanks-Jackson and husband Mont, Michelle Ebanks-Barnes and husband Patrick and Katelyn Merren; sister, Rosie Thompson; special in-laws, Betty and Bob Thompson; special cousins, Rupert Bodden and wife Althea, Mandy Lee Bush, Gaylord Bodden and wife, Patsy, Ardyth Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends.
There will be no parking on the church grounds on Sunday.
Parking will be at the Bayshore Mall and Cayman National Bank Building with the parking lots opening at 2pm.
Shuttle buses are being provided from these two locations and are being run every five minutes. For those who will not be going to the cemetery after the service, bussing from the George Town Seventh Day Adventist Church to the car parks will be provided. There will also be bussing from the George Town Seventh Day Adventist Church to the cemetery and from the cemetery to the car park after the Committal.
