Recent Little League action saw terrific T/Ball action at the Field of Dreams in George Town. In the Butterfield vs. RE/MAX game, Butterfield got 6 outs in the First Inning. Elias made a great play at right shortstop for an out at First Base and Henry made another good play at left shortstop.
RE/MAX fielded very well and kept the ball in the Infield. Dane and Amari both batted well and Joquar made a great play at Third Base. Butterfield proved too strong in the Second Inning. In the Digicel against Home Gas game Daneliz hit a Grand Slam and James, Shani and Zion all hit home runs. Digicel battled hard with only 9 players but the good fielding and power hitting of Home Gas proved too much.
In the Final Touch against CIBC game Dominic and Tres hit home runs for Final Touch. Great fielding by Tres ‘the sweeper’ gave Final Touch a commanding lead. However great batting through out the CIBC line up in the bottom of the Second brought CIBC within one run. However, excellent fielding by Final Touch on the last play of the game secured the victory.
In the Subway against Red Sail Sports game Subway did some great outfield work with Kaylee Parsons catching a pop fly and threw it to Lleyton James on first base who caught it for a rare double play in T-Ball. Subway continued to did a great job in in the outfield achieving 4 more outs. The Subway team did really good at batting with Nate Meghoo and Cory Burke both getting home runs to finish the first inning up by 6 points. In the second inning, Red Sail Sports improved on their batting and got 9 runs to bring their score up to 15. Subway took to the bottom of the inning to bat, where Ethan Hydes hit a double to bring in a few runs. Subway continued to have good batting with most team members getting on base, scoring a total of 9 points to win their first game of the season 17 to 15. Well done Subway.
In Pony the Burger King against Caribbean Publishing game was very close. Asher Francis pitched a scoreless first inning for Burger King. Zachary Parham and Hannah Rutty provided big hits for Burger King.
In the Appleby Spurling Hunter against FirstCaribbean International Bank game Appleby’s opened with excellent pitching and batting to take a 9-2 lead. FirstCaribbean came back with strong batting to pull within 2 runs. In the third inning Appleby’s went 3 up and 3 down and FirstCaribbean pulled within one. However in the fourth Appleby’s batters caught fire and took a commanding lead to take a 7 run lead. FirstCarribean pulled back two runs with aggressive base stealing but could not make up the entire deficit. It was an exciting game.
