Governor Stuart Jack held a reception on Thursday, 20 April at Government House in honour of Junior Achievement.
During his opening comments, the Governor thanked the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Central and the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce for their commitment to this major youth program.
The Governor presented Certificates of Appreciation to representatives of this year’s major financial contributors including:
• Gold Sponsors: FirstCaribbean International Bank, KPMG.
• Silver Sponsors: Quin & Hampson, Water Authority.
• Bronze Sponsors: Butterfield Bank, Bank of America, Caribbean Publishing Co., Crusader International Management Ltd., CUC, Julius Baer Bank & Trust.
Certificates of Appreciation were also presented to the following companies that sponsored individual JA companies for 2005-06: Butterfield Bank, Bank of America, Caribbean Publishing Co., Cayman National, Dart Management, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Royal Bank of Canada, and Scotiabank.
The JA company programme is designed to help young people appreciate and better understand the role of business in society. This is done with the support and guidance of volunteer advisors from the local business community.
Mr. Ravi Kapoor, JA President, stated he was ‘particularly pleased with the number of company programme sponsors without whom the 2005-06 year would not have been possible.’
He went on to express his gratitude to all of the company advisors for their hard work, dedication and for giving of their time so freely to assist the youth of the Cayman Islands.
