RBC boosts mammogram campaign

Royal Bank of Canada Trust Company has donated CI$5,000 to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society to assist with the purchase of a new state-of-the-art digital mammogram machine.

‘RBC Trust Company is grateful for the opportunity to support our staff and the community in which we live and work by making this contribution on behalf of our Staff Community Service Committee,’ Ralph Awrey, Managing Director of RBC Trust Company, said in a press release.

In thanking RBC Trust Company, Christine Saunders, General Manager Cayman Islands Cancer Society, commented: ‘We are extremely grateful to the RBC Trust Company for their donation. We have ambitious plans to raise in excess of $300,000 and this donation is a tremendous help.’

Chris Carpenter, Chairman of the Women Helping Women Memorial Fund, added: ‘RBC Trust Company have made a very substantial donation through their Staff Community Service Committee. We are very thankful for their support as this gets us closer to our fund raising goal and being able to purchase the new machine.’

The Cancer Society will donate the new digital mammogram machine to the Cayman Islands Hospital.
