Boat safety rules need updating

While commending authorities for the renewed interest in boating safety, a recent article in the Compass reminded me that the boat safety regulations need to be brought up to date in general and in particular what is considered to be acceptable fire extinguishing equipment. Carbon dioxide is no longer the favoured extinguishant on boats of the size seen around Cayman and the modern alternative is equally as efficient.
