Last week West Bay Primary students got moving with the start of Generali’s Be Active and Eat Smart program in their school.
Laura Ribbins, Be Active program consultant, led morning aerobics for the nearly 500 West Bay Primary students and teachers.
‘The kids really wanted to move,’ she said. ‘It was a great beginning for this important campaign in another school.’
Be Active will continue at West Bay through the first week of July with a family night/healthfair on 29 June, and an all-student activity day outdoors on 6 July.
Principal Dewayne Bennett commented, ‘Wow! With our first event the kids had a blast! We had all of them jumping and exercising in the hall. It was a fantastic sight. We see this as an important initiative and a great finale for the school year.’
