Jamaican DJ sensation, Busy Signal, is set to showcase his unique talents at Welly’s Cool Spot Friday, 30 June at the Summer Jam 2K6.
Busy Signal made his debut on the music scene in 2002 with Born and Raised a reflection of his birthplace Tivoli Gardens, and of the harsh realities of living in Jamaica.
The artist’s new self-produced single, Step Out, has cemented his place as the next big thing in Dancehall music.
As one of the most popular party songs, Step Out is a paradigm of Busy Signal’s style. An adventurous step away from the usual multi-genre style of other DJs, Busy attaches a concept to his songs and builds them on top of rhythms he creates.
Other songs to look out for by Busy include, a duet with Tami Chin called Because of You, Wha’ Busy a Do?, and a reworked Man Fi Dead riddim set on an explosive, machine-gun background.
Summer Jam 2K6 will also showcase Jamaican singer Tony Curtis and local acts Adonai, Coalition, Renegade and Red Diamond.
Tickets cost $20 pre-sold and $25 at the gate and are available at Reflections, Funky Tang’s and Champion Accessories. Gates open at 9pm.
