I found the Post Office’s recent claim that 95 per cent of local mail posted before 10am is delivered to its destination the next day; a little hard to believe.
So I thought I would put this to the test and dropped off an envelope addressed to myself, at the central Post Office in George Town at 9.30am last Friday (16 June).
It was delivered to my post box (about 40 feet from the drop off at the front counter) on Tuesday afternoon.
My experience is that often local mail takes four or five working days before it is delivered and sometimes even longer and I am only talking about delivery between post offices in George Town.
