Preliminary site work has begun on a new condominium community called Lakeside.

The community will encompass 195 units around a man-made lake just north of the centre of Seven Mile Beach on the Harquail bypass.

The condominium construction will be unlike any previously seen on island and has been meticulously researched and subsequently implemented in this project design to bring the latest in construction technology to Cayman, states a press release from NCB Homes.

Six-inch-thick solid concrete/steel walls coupled with Styrofoam layers will offer greater insulation resulting in lower utility bills.

Standing seam roofs create greater peace of mind and durability and the ground floor levels sit at seven feet above sea level; 40 per cent higher than planning requirements.

By partnering with Caymanian contractor, Limestone Construction Ltd., which has experience in the Cayman and can bring strategic partners from a multi-million dollar US construction company with an excellent management and a track record in building projects of this scale, NCB Homes is confident in all aspects of both quality and timely delivery in bringing this project to fruition.

Additional features for Lakeside, which will enhance the community aspect of the development, include excellent facilities with two pools and an oversized feature pool, clubhouse and a gymnasium, extensive landscaping and ample parking.

Mark Sorrill, general manager noted that ‘this type of low cost housing should not be confused with low quality. These homes are being built to very high standards and we are providing a needed resource to Caymanians and Cayman residents who work in the George Town and Seven Mile Beach areas. With the rising cost of real estate many of these potential home buyers are unable to afford to enter the property market.
