Safety standards need improving

Concerning the misadventure verdict in this case (Snorkeler’s death was misadventure, Caymanian Compass, 28 July), I am amazed that it appears that there was a lack of supervision to the high numbers of tourists on the boat and no proper check of numbers.

You don’t just count numbers going in and out, you count all souls on board. And of course we had the defective life jacket.

Quite clearly standards need to be improved as Cayman has a duty of care towards its people and its visitors. Misadventure? Not in my book, sorry.
