Nominate an ‘Unsung Hero’

Friday is the deadline for nominations for Cayman’s Unsung Heroes 2006 awards.

Unsung Heroes is a programme sponsored by FirstCaribbean International Bank that is designed to seek out and acknowledge people who contribute to their community without consideration for reward or acclaim.

Launched in 2003 in three countries, the programme now includes 17 countries in which FirstCaribbean International Bank operates.

A total of two country finalist will be chosen from nominations received from the Cayman public.

The bank will make a donation of US$5,000 to the cause championed by each of these individuals and their names will then be submitted to a regional panel where they will be considered for the title of Regional Hero.

A further donation of US$7,500 will be made to the cause of the regional winner and US$5,000 to the cause of two regional runners up.

Criteria for selection is noted on the nomination forms which are available at FirstCaribbean International Bank branches in George Town, Plaza Venezia and Regatta Corporate Centre. They can also be downloaded from FirstCaribbean’s website at www.firstcaribbeanbank.com.
