Hot enough for you?
That’s a common mantra heard daily in the Cayman Islands as we swelter during the Dog Days of summer.
But we’ve got some ideas to help you keep cool this summer.
Start by playing tourist right here at home.
Boatswain’s Beach has some great offers this summer. Not only do you get to see the new Turtle Farm facilities, you can cool off when you take a dip into the Breakers lagoon.
While you’re on that side of the island, stop in at Cayman Taffy Company at Seven Mile Shops on West Bay Road and watch Doug and Kevin practice their craft of making yummy, chewy taffy. It’s a treat for the eyes, the nose and the taste buds.
Red Sail Sports offers a unique Stingray City lunch snorkel sail that include a luxury catamaran sail, the Stingray City Sandbar, a deli-style lunch and snorkel equipment. It leaves at 9am daily from Safehaven Dock.
Been to Pedro Castle lately? If not, you really should mark off some time from your busy schedule to go. The gift shop and theatre are always cooled by air conditioning and the castle stays cool because of the thick walls and pleasant breeze blowing off the ocean.
Take a trip to the wave pool behind Hurley’s at Grand Harbour or check out one of the several beautiful beaches on all of our islands.
Speaking of all of our islands, get away to the Sister Islands and relax in the cool comfort of true island living.
Everyone who lives here should keep a watch out for resident specials at hotels. It’s a way to vacation right here at home and you’ll keep cool with the hotel’s air conditioning and pool.
