Walk to Remember on Sunday

Our Angels Foundation, a grief support group that offers advice and solace to those who have lost loved ones, presents its third-annual Walk to Remember this Sunday.

‘One of the biggest fears we have is that our loved ones will be forgotten and the Walk to Remember, now a tradition, gives us a perfect opportunity to unite together to cherish the memories of our loved ones,’ said Donna Myrie-Stephen, one of the organisers.

Affiliated with Compassionate Friends World Wide, Our Angels Foundation was founded three and a half years ago by Priscilla Powery, Heather McVicar and Chastine Rankine.

Ms Myrie-Stephen is chairperson and organiser of special events; treasurer is Andy Stepanuick; and councillor is Terry Delaney. Other members and volunteers include Ashley Watler, Tracey Myrie, Charmee McField and Annie Mae Roffey.

The third annual memorial walk/run will begin at the Wharf Restaurant and continue to Calico Jack’s. The $15 participant fee includes a T-shirt, and a Caribbean Cabaret breakfast with gospel vocalist and trumpeter Dwight Richards.

The Our Angels Foundation recognises that this year’s Walk to Remember includes the generous sponsorship of Cable & Wireless, CUC, Cayman Airways, KPMG, Dart Management, Fidel Murphy’s and Le Classique. Other associated sponsors include Jacques Scott, Mike’s Ice, the Olde English Bakery, Full of Beans, and food provided by Welly’s.

Interested parties can register for the event at Le Classique in Westshore Centre or Elizabethan Square, Foster’s Food Fair at the Strand, and Hurley’s Marketplace on Saturday.
