On the morning of Saturday, 9 September, around 30 people turned out to the West End Community Park to take part in the walk/run, said a press release from the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens.

Trophies were presented to the first three finishers in each category which included men, women and children for the walk and the run. A random draw for all participants was done at both events with prizes being donated by Kirk Freeport, Cable & Wireless and L & M Super store.

The evening’s seminar was held at the Cayman Brac High School Hall and featured guest speakers Dr. Orrett Thane and Dr Srirangan Velusamy of Faith Hospital and retired Clinical Psychologist Mr. George Walton.

Free mammogram vouchers were distributed by the Tropical Gardens club to women present at the seminar.
