Two Students, Jade Diaz and Tarick Millwood were on hand to receive the cheque from Water Authority Board Members. Joseph Ebanks and Edward Hessing.
This donation comes as a small gesture of appreciation for the Education Department’s kindness in allowing a small portion of the school grounds to be utilised by the Water Authority for the construction of a booster pump station.
The primary school’s Literacy Coordinator, Anne Briggs, expressed her gratitude for the donation.
‘We are extremely grateful to the Water Authority Board for their donation. This will contribute toward our goal of providing all our students with access to more books on their reading level.’
Ms Briggs also appeals to other local business to support the literacy programme at the school.
‘Our goal is to have reading resources that correspond to each student’s reading level. These books will not only be for use at school, but will also be part of our Home Reading Programme.’
Construction on the new booster station was completed recently and will be put into service shortly. The booster station will help to increase the pressure to Water Authority customers, particularly residents of the immediate Prospect and Marina Drive area.
