WestStar TV Ltd. will install a new standby generator Saturday. This will ensure their ability to continue broadcasting their digital cable service to WestStar TV customers in the event of a hurricane or other severe weather conditions causing power failures.
The installation will take place during off-peak viewing hours, between 1am and 6am early Saturday morning. Customers may experience temporary interruptions to their cable service during this period.
Earlier this year WestStar Cable TV Ltd. also announced moving their Technical Operations unit to a newly constructed hurricane-rated building that will enable them to protect their equipment and continue providing a clear and uninterrupted cable service in the event of a hurricane.
