Good Taste has arrived on Cayman in time for Pirates Week, and Governor Stuart Jack received the first copy.
The 2007 edition of the Good Taste magazine was presented to the Governor by Joanna Boxall, the owner of Acorn Publishing, and Mr. Jack said he was delighted to receive the first copy.
He commented that he had already visited a number of the restaurants in Cayman and that he would use the Good Taste guide to see which new restaurants he would like to visit.
Charles Grover, publishing director at Acorn Publishing, said “The level of support for the magazine and website from bars, restaurants and coffee shops has been outstanding. We thought that last year’s edition of Good Taste included virtually all the restaurants in Cayman, but somehow we have added even more this year. The magazine and website now feature over 100 of the most popular bars, restaurants and coffee shops on Grand Cayman.”
The magazine includes dedicated chapters for local restaurants, bars and coffee shops, and includes articles on wine.
Local artist Joanne Sibley was commissioned in May 2006 to paint the new front cover, with the guidelines that it should include bright colours, and should show food being served in a tropical setting with the ocean.
Island wide distribution of the magazine has begun. In total 80,000 copies of the Good Taste magazine will be distributed in Cayman during the year making it one of the most distributed magazines in the Cayman Islands. The magazine can be picked up for free at the airport, car rental agencies, shopping plazas, hotel concierges, supermarkets and over 300 other distribution points on the Island.
