Rotaract serves community

The new Rotaract Club has begun proving its motto of Service above Self.

Members of the club recently joined forces with Cayman Against Substance Abuse and the Cayman Aids Foundation to clean up the former community centre known as the Arthur Martin Centre behind Funky Tangs in George Town.

The centre was once used for a computer lab and was equipped for music studio, states a press release.

The space will now jointly be used for the offices of CASA and the Aids Foundation. Raquel of the AIDS Foundations expressed her appreciation and said that joining forces with Rotaract is exciting.

The AIDS Foundation for years has struggled to capture the interest of young people and Rotaract coming on board is definitely a sign of progress, she said.
