Rotarians discuss goals

Rotarians from all four clubs plus members of the new Roteract club met for a District Assembly at the Marriott Beach Resort recently.

District Governor is Alastair Paterson is from Grand Cayman and addressed the audience and stressed the Rotary International and District objectives for this Rotary year.

The provision of fresh water, the relief of hunger programme, the promotion of good health and the encouragement of literacy are the main focus and all the clubs are involved in various programs to achieve these ends. Membership and attendance at all the clubs is very good and there is considerable enthusiasm and activity in fund raising programs to help the good work.

The parent club and senior club is the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman, which meets at the Westin Casuarina Resort, West Bay Road, on Thursdays for lunch, which starts at 12.30pm.

Rotary Central meets at the Marriott Beach Resort, West Bay Road for dinner on Tuesdays at 7pm.

Rotary Sunrise meets at the Grand Old House on Wednesdays for breakfast at 7am and the Rotary Club of Cayman Brac meets on Mondays at 7pm for dinner at Biggies Restaurant, West End, Cayman Brac. The Rotaract Club meets at Breezes by the Bay at Harbour Drive in George Town on Thursdays at 7am for breakfast.
