Visiting and local pirates and entertainers from here and overseas combined for an exciting Kids’ Fun Day in Pirates Week at the Cayman Prep field on Sunday.
With free food and drinks, courtesy of Progressive Distributors, Rotary and Home Gas, plus free photos from Cayman Camera, the crowd of 200, mostly kids, had a sunny four-hour session.
Entertainment came from the Seattle Seafair Pirates, the Pirates of the Cayman Islands, the Stilt Walkers from Barbados, the Fabulous Fat Couple from Vancouver and fire truck tours from the Fire Services.
The youngsters also got a close up look at the prize-winning Las Tortugas float from the Pirates of the Cayman Islands, built completely by members of the group.
The police turned out as well to show off their vehicles and motorcycles and put on a dog handling demonstration. A bouncy Castle also got a good workout all afternoon.
Five bikes were given away in a draw. One of the winners, ticket number 684953, had left the function by the time the draw was held. The person with that ticket number can collect the bike at the Pirates Week Office on 10 Shedden Road.
