‘The Scavenger Hunt is designed to promote domestic tourism by encouraging residents to get out and see Cayman’s attractions in a fun and affordable way,’ said Ms Alma McKenzie, Senior Tourism Training & Development Officer for DoT. ‘The Hunt starts at 9am at Spotts Landing and finishes at 1pm at Rum Point, stopping at many different points along the way.’

A press release explained that teams of two will be asked to solve 20 brainteasers which will take them on a tour of the eastern districts. Teams that complete the hunt will be eligible to win a seven day cruise for two or round trip tickets to any Cayman Airways destination.

Teams must pre-register by 21 November by calling Daphine Watson at the Department of Tourism on 244-1249.

The competition is open to all residents aged 12 and above; however, teams and individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no fee to enter the Scavenger Hunt. The competition is open to Cayman Islands residents only. Individuals or teams of two can compete, providing they have pre-registered. All competitors must meet at Spotts Landing no later than 8:30am to receive their clue packet before starting the hunt. Drivers must show a valid driving license to receive the Clue Packet and Registration Number. Teams and individuals must travel in their own vehicle throughout the duration of the hunt, the release stated.
