As part of the RCIPS’s drive to ensure safety on the roads, an island-wide operation was carried out Sunday night.
Officers from the uniform branches of George Town, West Bay and Bodden Town as well as those from the Traffic Management Department, targeted motorists across the Island and produced the following results:
• 29 speeding tickets
• 26 traffic tickets
• 17 warned for intended prosecution
• 7 failing to wear a seat belt
• 2 vehicle defects
‘Motorists have a duty to do all they can keep themselves and others safe on the road and they need to be constantly conscious of their driving habits,’ said a RCIPS press release.
‘Operations such as this will continue to take place to help ensure that those using the roads are obeying the traffic laws and not putting themselves and others in danger.’
