Julie Stackhouse won the fourth annual Cayman Islands Marathon in a time of 3:06:17 on Sunday. She is the first woman to win the annual race.
Caymanian Mark Hydes was the first man to cross the line with a time of 3:09:26.
The Cayman Islands Marathon has become one of the region’s premier sporting events, drawing numerous runners for overseas. The 26.2 mile race is held in the early morning hours during the winter to allow for more comfortable conditions.
Local runner Marius Acker took first in the half marathon race with a time of 1:19:49.
Maria Mays was the first woman in the half marathon with a time of 1:26:58.
