His Excellency the Governor, Mr Stuart Jack, CVO, and his wife, Mrs Mariko Jack, will host the first Sports at Government House Open Day on Saturday, 3 February from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The event will showcase the wealth of sporting activities available to Cayman’s youth and adults. More than 15 of our leading sports associations will be featured on the grounds and beach area of Government House, to promote a variety of sports and healthier lifestyles.
Exhibitions during the afternoon will highlight many of these sports, and the public is invited to participate in all of the activities.
Sports and activities to be represented include badminton; basketball; boxing; cricket; football; netball; rugby; sailing; squash; swimming; tennis; volleyball; and kayaking.
Also participating are Motions Unlimited; Purple Dragon; the Olympic Committee; Special Olympics; Cayman Maritime Heritage Foundation; the Athletic Association and the Catboat Association; Public Health; Cayman Rehab Services; and Red Cross.
‘This event is open to everyone, and we would like to encourage our children and youth especially,’ Mr Jack said.
Because it will be an interactive afternoon, sport attire is appropriate for this event.
