The Cayman Islands showcased its unique brand of adventure travel at the annual Adventures in Travel Expo in New York recently.
Held last month at Pier 94 Convention Centre, the Department of Tourism was proud to join travel entities around the world in celebration of active and sporting vacations, says a press release from the Department of Tourism.
The expo, sponsored by National Geographic Adventure Magazine, is the largest active and adventure travel show on the east coast at which patrons are invited to discover all types of travel adventures and destinations.
‘The Cayman Islands was presented to over 22,000 consumers and 950 travel agents throughout the weekend looking for new and exciting vacation getaways and opportunities, and they found exactly that in the Cayman sector,’ said the release.
Displaying breathtaking underwater photography of the Cayman Islands’ unmatched world-class scuba diving, and presenting the distinctive Sister Islands, Cayman’s booth attracted a steady stream of burgeoning adventurers throughout the weekend. Cayman also focused on its wide variety of other specialty vacation opportunities including hiking, kayaking, birding and fishing.
The Expo provides a unique way for destinations and adventure companies to attract consumers. Ticket-holders could take free scuba lessons in an above-ground pool from a certified diving instructor, enjoy kayak demos and climb on an interactive ropes course.
