The science behind global warming is in fact based on a controversial interpretation of atmospheric measurements and on the results of ridiculous mathematical models of our atmosphere.
These models cannot even predict one year in advance or track what happened even one year back. Yet, we are supposed to accept these results as gospel.
I have in front of me a 600,000 year chart of temperature and CO2 which was constructed from Antarctic ice cores the chart shows four previous ice ages, lasting about 100,000 years interspersed with warm periods lasting about 10,000 years. All through the 600,000 years, the CO2 level has lagged the temperature. In other words, the CO2 level has always followed behind the temperature.
Yet, we are constantly being told that increased CO2 is causing the earth to warm up. Unless there has been a dramatic change in our universe, this is false. Many professional climatologists think that variations in the sun’s output power cause our ice ages. And indeed this does seem to be the case. Other theories mention earth orbital changes and dust in space.
Our last ice age ended about 10,000 years ago, after which the temperature rose to a peak about 8,000 years ago (around the time of the Sumerians). Since then, the temperature has been declining, with each peak lower than the previous peak. One peak was around 1300 AD when the Vikings discovered Greenland and grew crops there.
The lowest temperature shown was during what is called the mini ice age, which lasted about 450 years. The minimum was around 1600 AD when the Thames River and the Baltic Sea froze over annually. After the mini ice age, the temperature has risen steadily but is still much lower that it was 8000 years ago.
What amazes me is that the global warming herd has been able to reach its current level of hype and fear-mongering while totally ignoring real science Hardly a day goes by without some talking head making another dire prediction.
The geological records show unequivocally that climate changes are natural phenomena that do not depend on human activity. Perhaps I should not be too surprised, since there have been many other instances of unhealthy politico – science axes, such as the DDT scare, ozone holes, bird flu, and even global cooling in the 1970s.
Global warming is now being challenged by many climatologists holding PhDs. Those brave souls are risking their reputations and their careers.
