The event also honoured other entrants and contributors for their participation in the annual Agriculture Show held on Ash Wednesday.

Claiming the title for a number of years running, Agriculture Champion Exhibitor on show in superior vegetables, fruits was William Ebanks. Mr. Ebanks shared his night of fame with his wife Zelmalee, who collected her trophy for Champion Exhibitor on show in home products.

No other table in the function looked as favorably laden with well-earned trophies as the one Zelmalee shared with her North Side peers.

The competitive awards are given on a yearly basis to deserving farmers who have qualified through an application and judging process. The awards foster good relations with farmers by creating a greater public interest and understanding of today’s farmers and their challenges.

The event was attended by members of the Agricultural Society, members of the Agriculture Ministry, Grand Cayman and Sister Islands, Leader of Government Business Kurt Tibbetts and invited guests.
