Go Platinum

A new spa and yoga studio has opened its doors, offering a refreshing approach to taking time out.

Located in Paddington Place on Godfrey Nixon Way, Prana Yoga and Spa Platinum offer the ideal place to chill out and relax.

The d├ęcor is infused with splashes of colour offering an invigorating and inviting space – a fresh alternative to the whitewashed walls of many spas.

Although the spa and yoga studio are two separate businesses, they both share the same building; meaning it’s ideal for clients who want to combine the two into one relaxing session.

Owner and therapist Denise Ebanks-Smyth of Spa Platinum boasts over 20 years experience, so you’re in more than capable hands.

Yoga devotee Freeps Ridley, of Prana Yoga, has been practicing the art for over six years and teaching for more than two.

Denise offers a wide variety of treatments, including facials, Swedish massages, reflexology, manicures and pedicures as well as make-up and waxing.

She has opted to use the French Guinot line of products. Denise has worked with them before and says they are one of her favourites.

‘It’s one of the most effective lines on the market,’ she explains. ‘It can be customised to all skin types and leaves skin glowing. It really does give instant results.’

Alongside Guinot, Denise also offers a Repechage facial – a line tailored for very dehydrated or mature skin.

The spa has had a steady stream of customers since it opened its doors early this year.

Many are through word of mouth; others are loyal clients.

Facials are high on many wish lists. And understandably so.

This reviewer gave the Guinot HydraDermie facial a whirl. Touted as ‘the star’ facial treatment, it promises to leave skin looking ‘brand new’. My skin certainly looked far more radiant and relaxed than when I stepped through the spa’s doors just a short while ago.

The facial uses a combination of mild electrotherapy and oxygenation to deep clean and energise the skin. It sounds scary, but is far from it. I was almost asleep half way through the one-hour treatment.

Unusually, the spa has no specific opening hours. Denise prefers to be as flexible with her time for the benefit of clients. So, if you need a treatment at 6am to kick-start your day, or can’t make it out of the office until late evening, Spa Platinum is the place to go.

Prana Yoga holds a series of hourly yoga sessions, Monday through Friday, tailored to all levels. Classes must be booked in advance.
